Lindsey Bittner Graham, originally from Louisville, KY, developed and early passion for studying and sketching horses while working in stables after school. After her family moved to Colorado, she went on to graduate with a BA in Art from Colorado State University. Her love for horses, the west, and their unique relationships with people are all evident today in her beautifully and spontaneously rendered, timeless oil paintings.

Before Lindsey transitioned to full time oil painter a few years ago, she enjoyed a long, successful career as a locally and nationally known fashion illustrator. Her commercial clients included such renowned retail stores as The Denver Dry Goods, Fashion Bar, Neusteters, May D&F, Nordstrom and Goldwaters to name a few.

Lindsey attributes her recent growth as an oil painter to having studied with several of today’s admired artists such as Quang Ho, Robert Spooner and Jill Soukup. Her goal as an artist is to immerse the viewer emotionally into the mood and atmosphere of each painting through the use of loose, spontaneous brushwork to create strong light and shadow definition. Lindsey views each painting as another learning experience as she sometimes builds the painting in multiple layers of paint or approaches it directly, finishing it in one session. Either way, she doesn’t allow the viewer to become bored examining the process. Coming from a commercial illustration background, Lindsey is able to combine powerful drawing skills with her unique impressionistic painterly style.

Lindsey currently lives in Denver, CO with her husband, Don. She shares her studio with two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels and sometimes granddaughter, 5 year old Megan, already an aspiring young artist.
